Finance
The Finance Committee is headed by Jack Caslin. Together with the FRMA Treasurer, the FC guards the financial health of the FRMA. Jack writes:
The finance committee oversees the collection of association funds, primarily monthly dues and other fees. We also oversee disbursements of payments to vendors. The Finance Committee reports financial matters to the board of directors. Our assignment starts by preparing an annual budget with the assistance of the chair, various directors and members of the various committees. We interact with the Architectural Control Committee and concentrate on land use, landscape management and community safety.
On a monthly basis, actual income and disbursements, compiled by an outside accountant, are compared with the budget. Differences are referred to the board for resolution.
In addition, funds not needed immediately are invested in short term bank CDs so the association may earn income on idle funds.
Volunteers interested in joining the Finance Committee are welcome. In order to be effective it’s advisable to have experience with understanding financial statements, preparing budgets, etc.
